CELEBS IN TRENDS WE LOVE: Menswear

We first saw the menswear trend break through on the Marc Jacobs, Stella McCartney and Saint Laurent fall runways a few years ago and man has it been here to stay. From boyfriend denim that has gained popularity since early last spring, to the newer loafer and trouser genre, we are head over sneakers for this “borrowed from the boys” look.

Boyfriend jeans were the frontrunner of the ‘Menswear’ trend and although they have been around for a few years, boyfriend jeans helped the trend come to the spotlight in all of our favorite styles. The “boyfriend” fit now applies to t-shirts, a variety of bottoms, and shoes. The meaning behind the look being that it’s slouchy and comfy, yet fashionable and chic. The ‘Menswear’ look gives us an alternative to all of those oversized hoodies that we could all live in, & the trend has since spilled over into the business world  with longline blazers and loafers.

As pictured, Zendaya shows us a way to take those boyfriend jeans and jazz them up a bit with heels to give them a more feminine look.

Now for the finishing touch of an outfit, shoes! The loafer may be a little off putting to some, but there are so many feminine patterns that make this shoe a great alternative to the ballet flat.

Save your trip to the mall and check out your boys closet or order the #looksforless below!  ‘Borrowed From the Boys’ is one of our favorites and it isn’t going anywhere.
